Job Title-Assoc Software Engineer
Job Type-Full Time
Location-Pune
Responsibilities:

Working as part of a highly skilled, globally distributed team focused on building solutions to ensure the quality of Antivirus content.

Responsible for development, maintenance and improvement of large scale harvesting systems

Create tools to aid in the analysis of data collected through the large scale harvesting systems

Coding mission critical, large scale automated web harvesting systems using multiple languages and technologies (Primarily Python/Java/MySQL).

Understanding Symantec technologies in-depth.

Root cause analysis & process engineering - developing, maintaining and auditing QA processes.

Contributing to team projects and demonstrating responsibility for deadlines.

Contribute possible out of hours/weekend/public holiday cover as required

Interpersonal skills: Must be able to interact comfortably with members of the worldwide Response Team, customers and employees in other departments in Symantec.

Planning and organization: The ability to plan and organize multiple tasks in an efficient manner to completion.

Communication: The ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner, both written and verbal. Many of the people the role comes into contact with are located in different countries and may have differing abilities speaking English.

Team player: The role requires the ability to work in a close-knit worldwide team to achieve project goals.

Innovation: The ability to innovate solutions to get them to customers more quickly or safely is mandatory.

Qualification

• Educated to Bachelor’s Degree Level or equivalent in a computer science-related field
• QA-centric attitude, we need people who are passionate about quality.
• Proven track record within a QA, Backline Technical Support or Engineering function.
• Good knowledge of operating systems – primarily Windows, though experience with Linux/Android advantageous.
• Good knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP.
• Experience with Python (Intermediate level)
• Basic experience with databases preferably MySQL
• An understanding of networking and any previous web crawling skills is a big plus.
• Android mobile Reverse Engineer/Development experience( with tools like ADB etc) will be a plus
• Java programming experience will be a plus
• Six sigma certification would be advantageous.
